Christmas in Colorado

Sue, Katie and Ray rented a car and braved the blizzards in Indiana and Missouri, stopping at the Campbell's and Patty's on the way out to Christmas in Colorado. Jack and Bev came up from Arizona, Patty and Annie from Kansas, and Michael and Bob from Oregon.

Peggy modeling her new car.
Christmas eve is the traditional time to open gifts at the Koplin house, and Katie got things started by tearing into her new water dish. She probably wouldn't have been so excitedto unwrap it, but we put a couple of dog cookies in the bottom.
Bev and Peg with big smiles for the camera
Ray thought it was a waffle iron, but it turned out to be a picture.
Jack makes a great proud grandpa displaying a picture of his littlest cowgirl.
Oops. Sorry mom I forgot to wrap this one. Just pretend to be suprised.
Ray modeling Peg's new purse.

After we tore through all of the gifts we had hors d'oeuvres.
Kathy and Melissa stopped by

Everyone was starting to wind down.

And pretty soon they were out.

The festivities continued the next morning at the Krueger house
Katie waiting for everyone to gather around the tree at the Krueger house on Christmas morning.
Robby and Tasha
Tasha got a little help opening her presents, otherwise there might not have been anything left.

It took a while to get the gift opening ball rolling. We were all a little sleepy.
Dad got a digital camera and didn't waste any time trying it out.
What's that look for mom you told us to get you a new double boiler.
Christmas dinner was wonderful. Our friend Sandy Kern joined us.

After dinner we popped traditional English crackers which contained party hats and little games.
Mom and Patty were starting to fade
And dad was completely exhausted after trying out every little game from every cracker at the table.
Sue got kitchen duty as she so often does

later in the week David, Robby, Ray, Michael and Paul Raich went down to "the can" (the new Pepsi Center) for an Avalanche game

Guess who they can always count on to slip them something. Notice the conspicuous absence of the little red dog. She doesn't play well with others, and was behind a barricade in some other room.
