This hawk has taken up residence in the median of Pelham Parkway, and we've been watching him hunt squirrels and rats for the past couple of months. We also installed a birdfeeder on our terrace and it's grown so popular that it's expanded into a feed trough.

Red Sox vs Yankees, and Cooperstown September 2001 |
Robby came out for his annual fall visit. We were hoping that the Yankees and the Red Sox would be locked in a neck-and-neck pennant race. It turned out that if things weren't decided before the first game, they certainly were by the time the last game was rained out and we headed to Cooperstown. |

Robby came out to visit in September and we saw a few sights, three ballparks and a half dozen games. I think the Yankees Red Sox was the highlight, but new Camden yards was pretty impressive too. This fall we are taking a road trip to Cooperstown when he comes out. |

Mark arranged a rafting trip on the Delaware river. We weren't sure but we thought he might be trying to free up some instrument time by leading the Einstein NMR group on some sort of Deliverance...

A bike seat gives a unique perspective on New York City, and there are, surprisingly, a number of bike tours where they block off the streets. This tour was a little over fourty miles long and wound through all five boroughs.
